BCUC Approved training providers

Olympus security are leading providers for BCUC who deliver the SIA endorsed qualifications. Successful completion of the course will receive the highly respected certificate in protective security. Not only does this allow candidates to apply for the SIA close protection front line licence, but has the additional benefit of 15 course credits towards the BCUC foundation degree in close protection. Our training courses have been formulated to cover, not only the full range of the SIA core competency, but include numerous additional subjects vitally important to commercial close protection which are simply not covered outside our organisation.

As a respected operational provider of trained close protection operatives, we are fortunate to have sourced an exceptional level of instructional staff.
For over a decade our instructors have been responsible for training a wide and expanding range of operatives. These have ranged from some of the most elite military and police units in the world, to door supervisor staff, and even to those individuals who have no prior security background.

Course Content

Olympus Security Close Protection courses are now run in Hereford.
Ex+med UK Ltd will be conducting the ( FR ) First
Responder Module of this course. Their courses are
accredited and clinically approved by organisations
such as the Health and Safety Executive and by the
Royal College Of Surgeons (Edinburgh), faculty of
pre hospital care. The course fulfills, over and above,
the SIA requirements for Close protection officers.

At Olympus Security, we adhere to the SIA core competency as a structural base for the current training qualification. Many clients require a greater degree of knowledge and expertise than the standard 150 guided learning hours. With this in mind, we at Olympus feel it is our responsibility to give our students the very best training available on order to prepare them for this demanding role.

All topics are covered with a mixed variety of classroom based, external, on the ground reality based scenarios, and additional out of hour’s individual tasking.
The culmination of this knowledge is drawn together on the final five day (5) day live exercise.
This is the longest and most comprehensive of its type in the commercial marketplace, it is an excellent test of the students’ practical application.

Full intelligence gathering operation to be commenced
Full search protocol both technical and physical means
Secure briefings and de briefs
Setting up operations room
Setting up secure observation points
Detailed map work
Live protection exercise (individual tasking as leadership posts )
Tactical driving and mobile navigation including all action on drills
Full anti surveillance protocol
Reaction to attack , immediate action drills , hard extraction of a principle
Inter agency liaison police NGO’s etc.

Although the aforementioned list is not exhaustive, it will relay suitable indication that our final exercise is second to none. It speaks for itself that this final exercise is invaluable in the preparation of candidates as suitable operatives for the commercial market.
Upon the successful completion of the course, students are given a thorough course report and assistance with our course after care subjects. This includes C.Vs, SIA licence application and assistance with some of the more personal aspects that a successful close protection operative may have to deal with.
